Handy tips of how to extend the life your stools and to keep them looking beautiful.
Further tips are in our Terms & Conditions
Have you had issues with your seats like the below photo?
Well before your new beautiful seats show signs of cracking we recommend a gentle cleaner like dishwashing liquid or Arco. Arco is a vinyl and leather cleaner that cleans the vinyl as well as creating a silicon coating that helps protect your seats. Please do not use abrasive cleaning products eg jiff or gumption as they remove the top layer of vinyl and leather.
The areas that you need to focus on when cleaning your seats is where any body oil / perspiration come into contact with you seats. This may be where people’s legs touch the seat or it could also be where people pull their seats in and out.
If you really like your seats and they are structurally sound why not look into getting them reupholstered rather than replace them. We would reccommend getting a quote from your local upholsterer it may be cheaper than buying new ones.

Please note: if your seats are as damaged as the above photo cleaning them would not fix them.
Is your stool or office chair sinking or rising on its own? Before considering a replacement, check if the gas strut needs to be replaced. Key signs include unexpected height changes, being stuck at a certain height, or sinking when you sit without pulling the handle. If you notice these issues, replacing the gas strut is recommended. However, if problems persist, please reach out to us for further assistance. --- Feel free adjust any part to better fit your style!
Please use caution using tools as they can do damage to floors etc. or they may harm your person
1: Place the office chair on its side on a flat surface (we recommend carpeted or protected floor)

2: Using a pair of vice grips grip around the top of the gas strut as close to the office chair mechanism (office chair mechanism is the metal item screwed to the bottom of the chair)
3: You will need to now twist the old gas strut out of the seat mechanism. You may need some leverage to help twist the strut out we use a metal pole and place it over the end of the vice grips. Depending on the age of the chair you may need to use some WD40 to help release some of the tension.

4: You will now need to remove the base from the gas strut. Place the base upside down (the gas strut facing the floor) on a hard surface. We recommend using a 1-3/16 socket bit to help bang the old gas strut out. Place the socket set on the gas strut and hit the socket set with a hammer. If you find that it is hard to get out spray some WD40 into the gap where the strut and the base meet and let it sit for an hour or so and try banging it out again

5: Once you have the old gas strut out, place the new gas strut into the base.
6: Place the seat back onto the gas strut. You will need to sit on the seat to ensure that the seat locks into place. Once this is all done your office chair is ready to use
